Brother HL-3040CN

   PCLinuxOS Version: PCLOS2011 updated
   Desktop Environment: KDE4.x
   Known problems or issues: None
   Drivers available and easily install from Brother Here. A nice color printer. Install the LPR driver rpm before the Cupswrapper driver rpm. The HL-3040CN name will not show up in the Make/Model list. However, the cupswrapper rpm will create a ppd file in /opt/brother/Printers/hl3040cn/cupswrapper that can be used to set the printer up.

Brother DCP-8080DN

   Drivers available and easily install from Brother Here. Is mulitifunction - all things work - even scanning over network if driver from Brother is install.

Canon MX330 Multi Function Printer (MFP)

   PCLinuxOS Version: 2013.06,(mini)
   Desktop Environment: KDE 4.10.5
   Status: After installing ‘task-printing’ with Synaptic I could see and configure the printer.
   Printing:
       Prints well
       No support for ink marker levels
   Scanning:
       Works using XSane from computer
       Does Not Work from Device > Scan > To PC...
   Fax:
       Not used or tested.

Canon TR4520 PIXMA Printer (MFP)

   PCLinuxOS Version: 2024.10
   Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma5
   Status: After installing ‘cnijfilter2-5.70.1.rpm’ I could see and configure the printer.
   Software available at: Canon_TR4520_Drivers
   Printing:
       Prints well
       No support for ink marker levels
   Scanning:
       Works using XSane from computer

Canon MegaTank PIXMA G7020 All-in-One Printer

   PCLinuxOS Version: Debian Edition 2024.08
   Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma 5
   Status: After installing ‘cnijfilter2-6.00-1-deb’ the printer works correctly.
           After installing 'scangearmp2-4.00-1-deb' the scanner works correctly
   Software available at: PIXMA G7020 Drivers
   Printing:
       Prints well
       Scans well
   Scanning:
       Works using XSane from computer
   Faxing:
       Not tested
   Comments:

Epson

Perfection Scan V500

   PCLinuxOS Version: 2013.02

   Known problems or issues: There are 3 specific files to download and install. These files are not in Synaptic.
   1. iscan-data-1.21.0-1.noarch.rpm
   2. iscan-2.29.1-5.usb0.1.ltdl7.i386.rpm
   3. iscan-plugin-gt-x770-2.1.2-1.i386.rpm
Iscan-data must be installed first and the scanner must NOT be plugged in and you MUST install all 3 files for it to work. I have not given the Epson a thorough test to see what is full capabilities are since I only installed it today. Presumably it will be fully functional though.

   Known Problems or issues: None
   Other Notes: Will work with the supplied Gutenprint drivers or with Epson's ESC-P/R driver, the latter being recommended if you plan to upgrade to a newer Epson model. If you use the latter, be sure that the lsb-lib64 and task-printing packages are installed before installing the Epson ESC-P/R driver.

C42UX

   Known Problems or Issues: In Gnome;
       1st: Made sure packages task-printing, printerdrake, and task-printing-epson were installed.
       2nd: Turn off 'auto config' for printerdrake. Choose the printer from the list. Found Epson C42UX, and chose the CUPS + gutenprint (en) driver.
       3rd: Print a test page.

   Plug in USB cable and setup through PCC (PCLOS Control Center) Make sure that you have installed 'task-printing-HP' from synaptic. This is an inexpensive ($29.99 at Frys # 6499592) basic no thrills inkjet printer. * Straight through paper feed.
       Up to 16 pages per minute black, 12 ppm color
       Paper Size: 4" x 6" to 8.5" x 14"; up to 1,000 pages per month
       Does not come with USB cable

HP Color LaserJet CP1217

   Known Problems or Issues:
In 2010.1, make sure all printer-stuff is installed from Synaptic, and do a manual config of the printer via PCLinuxOS Control Center (don't let it install automatically).

In 2010.12 fully updated: none (even automatical recognition, however you have to select printer model HP CP1215 (instead of 1217). The 1215-driver is also the one HP provides for Windows.

Fixed issue by using the CUPS web interface to install the printer again using hpijs driver, (OfficeJet 6000 E609n with driver hpijs 3.11.3a used.)    Known Problems or Issues: Incorrect driver (hpcups) is installed by the automatic installation routine for a USB connected printer. The correct driver (hpijs) may be installed from PCC -> Hardware -> Configure Printing and Scanning. Right-click the printer icon, select Properties -> Settings and then click the Change button against Make and Model and navigate to the hpijs driver.

HP Photosmart C5200 All-in-One Printer

   PCLinuxOS Version: 2010 updated
   Desktop Environment: Enlightenment, LXDE, OpenBox, KDE 4.6
   Other Comments: works very well with Linksys wireless G PrintServer WPSM54G. More information can be found here
